Sandpoint Swim Meet

*Patti and Ed, such nice people.

The last swim meet of the year was a great ending to a long season.  Frankly, I am tired. I summoned the courage and strength for one final day of competition.  My brother, Evan, joined me again, which is always a laugh and a half.  It is always a treat when he visits.  Not to mention, he always brings a bunch of home-cooking from his mom, delicious.  It was great to share the last swim meet with him.

*My good friends, Evan and Ayla

Everyone did great at the race, I swam 6 events, did pretty well in the 100IM and had a lot of fun.  Evan did great, like always, in his bread and butter freestyle events.  Our friend, Ayla, who graciously rode with us to the meet, also did great in her second swim meet.  It was fun to have her at the meet. She was a member of our mixed relay team and did a good job for herself and our team.

*At every competition, Ed compiles Patti's heat information, gathers results, and times her events with his own watch. It is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

Ed and Patti shared the day with us and stayed at my house.  I enjoyed their company after the meet, they always bring a smile to my face when they say, “Your parents must be so proud of you.”  Sometimes it’s nice to have a full house so I don’t have to bounce around a big empty house, makes me feel good.  It was such a pleasure to share the meet with them, and my other swim friends.  All of my swim-friends are unique people and I value their friendship, support, and competition.

*Enjoying a mid set chat with Ed and Patti

*I actually got a lot of compliments on the outfit, even if it was eccentric

*Ayla counting Ev's laps in the 400 free

*Me reeeeaacchhing for the turn in the 50 fly

*The dinner master at work

*With Ayla's help, I found my creative side and made this sweet Fall center piece before my guests arrived.

*A side note, numbers fascinate me, here I am engrossed by the results summary.

I look forward to a winter full of "crunching the numbers."

 That’s it, easy-peasy.

Sandpoint Swim Preview

I had another fantastic adventure with the special people in my life.  People who win the lottery aren't lucky, people who make million-dollar memories are the lucky ones.
